WASHINGTON – The White House is among the most photographed buildings in the world, but for the second week, visitors looking for their quintessential Washington picture have to find a more distant perch.

Pennsylvania Avenue, just north of the White House, has been blocked off since the Boston bombings last Monday.

The space — usually full of tourists, activists and passing power players — has been cordoned off by police tape. Secret Service officers ensure people stay back toward Lafayette Park.

Visitors continue snapping photos, but some say they’re a little bummed that they can’t approach the fence surrounding the famous residence.

The Secret Service won’t say how long the restrictions on Pennsylvania Avenue will remain in place.
