Mexican restaurant signs at The Yards

The Nationals Park neighborhood is getting another sit-down restaurant.

Forest City Washington, the developer of The Yards, says the owners of Capitol Hill’s Zest Bistro have signed a lease for a Mexican restaurant called Agua 301.

The 3,600-square-foot restaurant will take space at The Lumber Shed, a former Navy Yard industrial building, being developed for mixed-use. It is expected to have as many as five restaurants, along with office space. Osteria Morini, an Italian restaurant, signed a lease earlier this year.

Agua 301, from Zest Bistro owners Amanda and Stephen Briggs and David Bonior, gets its name from its water views and its address at 301 Water St. SE. The menu is being developed by Zest Bistro executive chef Dot Steck.

Other restaurants coming to The Yards include Bluejacket microbrewery and restaurant, Buzz Bakery and Willie’s Brew & ‘Que. Already open are Kruba Thai & Sushi and Potbelly Sandwich Works.
