WASHINGTON - As the region's extreme heat is expected to continue into the weekend, a utility is urging its customers to conserve electricity.
Pepco said in an email late Thursday that the predicted heat, damage from last week's storm and high demand for electricity are stressing the electrical system's capabilities.
Pepco says crews continue to work to restore electricity to those still without it, as well as pockets of new outages.
