WASHINGTON (AP) - Metropolitan Police say a 10-year-old girl is recovering after being shot in the leg while sitting in a car.
Police say the girl was driven to a police station on 42nd Street in Northeast about 3:30 a.m. Monday after the incident. Investigators say she was struck while sitting in a vehicle on New York Avenue and Fenwick Street. They say she may have been struck by a stray bullet.
Authorities say the girl was taken to a trauma center and is expected to make a full recovery.
