WASHINGTON - District of Columbia police are investigating the fatal shooting of a suspect in northeast Washington after an officer was stabbed.
Police say the officer was responding to a domestic violence report shortly after 7 a.m. Friday at a home on 17th Street NE, between Newton and Monroe streets.
Officials say an officer was stabbed and was taken to a local trauma center. There was no immediate information on the officer's condition. After the stabbing, the suspect was fatally shot by police.
The officer and the suspect were not immediately identified.
